What is Saecra for?

Finding out if something you started changed anything on your face: a new product or routine, a treatment like a facial, peel, laser or injectables, or a habit like more sleep or a new diet. You log it, take your daily photo, and Saecra shows you what changed, or tells you it's too early to tell.

How much time does it take?

One guided photo a day, about 30 seconds. The app guides your distance, angle and light, then takes quick bursts from three angles and a close-up of your eyes. Missing a day is fine: there are no streaks to lose.

How long until I know?

Accepted Answer

Most changes take 8 to 12 weeks to show. When you log something, Saecra tells you the date it will look. Until then it says too early to tell, so you don't mistake normal day-to-day variation for a result.

What if my count goes up?

Accepted Answer

That can happen, especially in the first weeks of something new. Saecra shows your real count, with every blemish circled so you can check what was counted. Until a change is bigger than normal photo-to-photo variation, it says too early to tell. It never scores you or judges you.

Will Saecra tell me what to use?

Accepted Answer

No. Saecra never chooses products or ingredients for you, and it sells none. It helps you organize your own routine and shows what changed on your photos while you used each thing. You decide what to keep, stop or give more time. The app's ingredient guide is an unranked list of what people commonly use and how much research there is; it never picks one for you. For advice, ask a dermatologist or pharmacist.

Does it track treatments like facials, peels or injectables?

Yes. Log any treatment, product or habit, and Saecra shows what changed on your photos afterward, or tells you it's too early to tell.

I already had my treatment. Can I still use it?

Yes. Saecra compares from your first photo onward, so it can follow what happens from today, for example as a laser treatment settles or before your next session. It can't see your skin before your first photo, so it can't measure the change from before the treatment.

What does it measure?

Five measurements are planned: blemishes, wrinkles and fine lines, dark spots and marks, under-eye dark circles and eye bags. Our goal is to launch with all five measurements. Each one goes live as soon as it passes our repeat-photo test on every skin tone. Until then it shows as in testing, with no number. Each one is compared only with your own earlier photos. Not on the list: redness, hydration, texture or skin age, because a selfie can't measure them the same way twice.

Is it a medical app?

No. Saecra is a cosmetic progress tracker. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything. For skin concerns, see a dermatologist.

Where do my photos go?

Nowhere. They're analyzed on your phone and stay there, in the beta too. We have no copy, so we can't sell, share or leak them, and we never train AI on them. Are they in a backup? Only if you turned on iCloud backup on your phone; Saecra never sees it.

Saecra Plus: $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year. If you only want it for one treatment, the Treatment Referee is a one-off $11.99: a measured photo before a laser, peel or similar treatment, follow-up photos at the right times, and an answer about what changed, with the numbers and the dates. Plus includes it with no limit. That is the only way we make money. No ads, no products, no affiliate links, no selling your data. Basic results are free, and your history is never behind a paywall. Waitlist members get the first 3 months of Plus free. Every measurement is free once it's live. My routine is free. Plus adds the dermatologist summary, the Treatment Referee, more tracked changes and the routine audit.

Saecra Plus ($4.99 a month or $39.99 a year) adds the Treatment Referee (or $11.99 for one treatment without Plus) with no limit, a summary you can show your dermatologist (not a medical record) that includes what you spent, unlimited tracked changes with what else changed at the same time, and a routine audit every 3 months. Every measurement is free once it's live. The beta is free. You pay nothing until after launch. Prices are set for launch; if they ever change, current subscribers keep their price. Not on the waitlist? Plus has a 7-day free trial on the monthly plan, which turns into $4.99 a month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The waitlist's 3 free months need no card and never turn into a charge.

Does it work on every skin tone?

Every measurement must pass on all ten skin tones of the Monk scale before it ships, and each is still in testing. Results so far, on Google and TONL's Monk Skin Tone Examples (19 people, Monk 1 to 10): face landmarks were found on 100%, 100% and 99.5% of front-facing photos for Monk 1 to 3, 4 to 6 and 7 to 10; blemish false alarms on clear skin were similar across shades; and the photo light check was rebuilt so it passes 96 to 100% of well-lit faces in every shade group. Dark circles is paused: it was less reliable on deeper skin in poor light. It comes back only when it passes on every shade. Results for each shade are on the Skin tones page, not averaged, including where we fall short.

The invite-only beta is planned to start December 7, in waves from the waitlist. The beta is free, with the same photo rules. Your 3 free months of Plus start the first time you sign in after the public launch, so beta time doesn't use them up. iPhone only, at launch in the countries the App Store allows; the beta is invite-only.
